JEWEL ROBBERY.
SECOND MAN CHARGED £1197 INVOLVED. MINEB-EABOUBER REMANDED When arrested a week ago, Eobert Cockburn, aged 2D, miner and labourer, appeared in tlic Police Court, charged with the theft of a cycle, valued at £9, To-day, when he made his second appearance, a more serious charge was preferred against him- —that of breaking and entering, on August 20 last, the shop of James Pascoe and stealing jewellery, precious etonee, gold oddments and £5 in cash, of a total value of £1197 8/6. Senior Detective Hall obtained a remand until Thursday. Mr. E. C. Aekins, for accused, consented to the remand. Another man is awaiting trial on a charge arising out of the jewel robbery.
