BOWLING AT TE PUKE.
WEEK-END TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) TE PUKE, this day. During the week-end Te Puke was visited by a number of bowlers from Whakatane, Tauranga, Taneatua and Rotorua. Dr. Bertram's team won section 1 outright. In section 2 three teams tied, and had to play off, Tauranga winning against both Rotorua teams. Tauranga won an exciting final of 12 heads against the winners of section 1, ltd came out victors by 8 to 4. . Sectional play resulted as follows: — Section I.—Rotorua (Bertram), 5 wins; Te Puke (Chester), 4 -wins; Te Puke (Alexander), 3 wins; Rotorua (Pakes), 2 •wins; Te Puke (Paterson), 1 win; Taneatua (Peebles), no wins. Section 2.—Rotorua (Fowkes), Rotorua (Young), Tauranga (Crowley), 3 wins; Whakatane (Curragh), Te Puke (Manning), 25 wins: Te Puke (Persey), 2 wins. In the play-off in section 2 Tauranga (Crowley) beat Rotorua (Young), and beat Jtotorua (Fowkes), 5 to 2. In the final Tauranga (C. Washer) defeated Rbtorua (Bertram) in a lirst-elass Bam», 6—4. At .the conclusion of play Mr. J. Persey presented the winners with suitable trophies.
