FRAMED MINUTE.
SERVICES APPRECIATED. DRAINAGE BOARD'S TRIBUTE. A tribute to the long and valuable service rendered the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board was paid last evening when a framed copy of a minute passed by the board was presented to Mr. A. J. Entrican by Mr. B. Martin, deputy-chairman. The minute recorded the board's appreciation of Mr. Entrican's services. Mr. Martin, in referring to the invalu-' able work Mr. Entrican had rendered, said that, except for a period of two years, he had been a membev of the board since its formation until his retirement early this year. In expressing his thanks, Mr. Entrican traversed the development of drainage in Auckland, going back to the year 1880, when the first ■public report dealing with drainage for the city came before the City Council. The population of the city proper at that time was just over 17,000. A minute similar to that presented to Mr. Entrican has been prepared for Mr. G. W. Hutchison, late chairman of the board; and will be presented to him when he returns from Australia.
