HUGE DEBT RISE.
GERMAN FINANCES. Everything Must be Sacrificed To Rearmament. UNBALANCED BUDGET SURE. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 12.30 p.m.) BERLIN, December 11. Admitting 1 that the public debt lias risen by £583,000,000 since Herr Hitler assumed power, the Finance Minister, Herr von Krosigk, maintained that the increase in incomes due to the active policy on which the money has been spent is sufficient to cover the deficit. The German people must be prepared to make every sacrifice for rearmament. Pleasures, and even the vital necessities of life, must take second place, and the building of new houses must be postponed. Rearmament had made it impossible to balance the Budget, but there is no tendency to regret the policy adopted.
RICH IN CHILDREN.
Germany's Cry for Larger Families. SAVE NATION FROM DECLINE. (Received 1.30 p.m.) BERLIN", December 11. With a slogan, of "at least four children for every family," the Reich will, at Weimar to-morrow, launch the League of the Rich in Children. State leaders, numbering 44—a1l with large families —have issued an appeal stating that the only way Germany can be delivered from the dangers of decline is for all married people to produce the largest possible number of vigorous children. The movement links up with the decree requiring medical certificates before marriage. Only the health authorities are empowered to permit marriages.
