RETIRING FROM SEA.

TWO WELL-KNOWN MASTERS

Captain J. F. Spring-Brown will retire from the sea 011 completion of the present round trip of the CanadianAustralasian Royal Mail liner Aorangi, now on her way to Vancouver.

Captain Brown has had command of the Aorangi for the past four years and is very popular with the travelling public. Previous to that he was in command of the Narbada and many other vessels of the company. Captain T. V. Hill, of the Niagara', will take command of the Aorangi, and his place on the Niagara will be taken by Captain W. Martin.

Another well-known U.S.S. Co. master who is about to retire is Captain E. Harris, of the motor vessel Hauraki. He has had charge of the Narbada, Mokoia and many other vessels during his 35 years' service with the company.
