Adapted from the novel by Robert Herrick, "The Healer," with Ralph Bellamy and Karen Morley, cornea to the St. James' Theatre to-morrow. It is moving story of a man who. gives his life to curing and caring for cripple children until a spoiled, wealthy gy takes liim away from the work he loves There are numerous situations that «e deeply moving.
In the course of the story Bellamy skilled surgeon, becomes well known for the remarkable work he is doing to cure crippled childrfcn. His life is a simple open-air one, close to Nature, and he is assisted by Miss Morley and J. Farrell Mac Donald. Judith Allen, a wealthy society girl, determines to enter the camp against orders and, jumping her horse over the gate, falls and is injured. T 0 save her life Bellamy is forced to perform a brain operation. So grateful is her father that he builds a large sanatorium for Bellamy and Miss Allen wins Bellamy away from Miss Morley, but he is soon tired of society life. H • Hses his work and is unhappy. A foi e breaks out and endangers the eai.._ to bring the story to a tense climax.
