SEQUEL TO FIRES.
MORE ARSON CHARGES DWELLING HOUSE BURNED. DESTRUCTION OF AN HOTEL. (IJy Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTOX NORTH, this day. A man whose name was suppressed until the hearing of the case, appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., to-day on a charge that about October 2S he committed arson by wilfully setting fire to <1 dwelling at 128, College Street. On the application of the police accused wi\s remanded until Friday next. Bail was allowed.
Another man was charged that on May 8 at Makotuku he committed arson by wilfully setting lire to the Makotuku Hotel. A remand was granted till Friday and bail was allowed.
Regarding the charge relating to the house in College Street, two men have already been committed for trial, and one for sentence on a similar charge. Another man has already been committed for sentence 011 a charge similar to that in respect of the Makotuku Hotel.
