PUBLIC SERVICE.
LOCAL BODY EXPERIENCE. RECORD OF NEW MINISTRY. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The majority of the members of the new Ministry have creditable records of service with public bodies. The Hon. Mark Fagan and Messrs. Nash, Fraser and Semple are all members of the Wellington Harbour Board, Mr. Jones is a member of the Otago Hospital Board, Mr. Mason is chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, Mr. Sullivan is Mayor of Christchureh, and Mr. Armstrong served as chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board—to mention only the most notable.
Mr. Sullivan will preside at the next meeting of the Chnstchurch City Council, from which li<? will resign at a suitable opportunity to avoid a Mayoral by-elecKun in the middle of the holiday period.
It is believed that Mr. Hairy Holland, son of the late Labour leader, will be attached to Mr. Savage's secretarial staff.
