CYCLING.

AUCKLAND CLUB.

The Auckland Cycle Club's mid-weekly track events were staged at the Papatoetoe Stadium banked track last evening. An entire absence of wind made racing conditions ideal and the fields were up to the average. Results:—

One Mile Junior.—P. Collier, 120 yds, 1; D. Banks, 30yds, 2; If. Pearce, scr, 3. Time, 2.20 4-5. Tlie winner rode a good race throughout, making all his own pace to score by a comfortable margin. The second man was two lengths ahead of third.

One Mile Senior.—C. Johnson, 00yds, 1; R. Absolum, 120 yds, 2; R. Watson, 130 yds, 3; C. rule, 100 yds, 4. Time, 2.9 1-5, The pace was on right from the gun, but at two laps to go the back men were all up. Prom then on a fine race ensued, for nine to cross the line in a bunch, Johnson, who had hopped into the lead at the bell, holding on well to win by a length. Six inches separated second and third.

One Mile Teams' Race. —S. Ward, C. Knight, R. Watson, time 2.20; L. Barr, R. Absoium, K. Edkins, time 2.21 3-5; J. Whitten, S. Weller, P. Pearce, time 2.24 4-5.

Races will again be held at Papatoetoe on Saturday afternoon.
