i — ; Christening of the Baby i Prince Edward. ! CEREMONY IN PALACE. (Received 10 a.m.) . LONDON, November 20. I Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, ' children of the Dpke and Duchess of York, were proud spectators at the christening of Prince Edward, infant son of thefDuke and Duchess of Kent. The baby wore the robes in which the late Queen Victoria was baptised. The chapel was decorated with white, roses, marguerites, lilac and heather. The infant Prince was named Edward George Nicholas Paul Patrick. The Archbishop of Canterbury performed the baptismal rites. The child was sponsored by seven godparents, including the King and Queen. At the end of the ceremony Their Majesties and other , members of the Royal Family, together with the Home Secretary, Sir John Simon, the only representative of the Government present, signed the Royal register of births and marriages. Earlier in the day the names of the infant Prince were inscribed in the City of Westminster Register, which was signed by the Duke of Kert. Crowds waited outside the Palace.
