OIL IN ENGLAND?
LARGE-SCALE PROSPECTING. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 19. Large-scale prospecting for oil in England is about to commence, following the issue of licenses by the Board of Trade. The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company states that geological investigations justify test drilling, in addition to geological and geophysical work. The "Daily Mail" says it is believed that rich oil beds exist at a depth of 3000 feet throughout England.
