. I Sir Archibald Edmondetone, formerly groom-iii-waiting to King Edward VII., arrived with Lady Edmondstone by the Rangitata from London to-day. Mr. F. Beaumont Smith, managing director of the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation. (N.Z.), Ltd., left for the South last night with Mrs.' Smith. Mr. J. M. Key, of the local staff of Huddart-Parker, Ltd., will leave by the Wanganella to-morrow from Wellington on a visit to Sydney and Melbourne. Mr. J. S. Triggs, a North Auckland orchardist, accompanied by Mrs. Triggs, returned on the Rotorua to Wellington from a nine-months' trip to England, Scotland and the Continent. Mr. R. M. Statham, Officiating Educational Commissioner with the Government of Indja, is travelling by the Strathnaver to New Zealand to visit his brother, Sir Charles Statham. Mr. K. G. Butters, manager of the | Gisborne branch of the National Bank of New Zealand for the past seven years, has been transferred to Christchurch. He will be succeeded by Mr. A. B. West, manager at Blenheim. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allsop, of Auckland, have been spending the winter at Great Barrier Reef, Queensland. For the last month they have enjoyed the mild climate and good fishing at Lord Howe Island, and are expected to arrive back about November 30. Judge J. H. Luxford returned from Samoa by the Maui Pomare, which arrived at Lyttelton this week. During his absence of three months from New Zealand, he attended the sittings of the Land and Titles Commission, and also dealt with other Court work.
