Auckland Rugby League patrons received a surprise this week to learn that A. 10. Cooke, the Richmond Rovers' international, had been appointed selector-coach to J'onsonby. Since 1931 Cooke has learned most of the line arts of coaching from .Mr. A. T. MeClymont, and should make a great success*of his job for a club which has big. ambitions. The ex-Hawke's Bay and Taranaki Maori Rugby Union representative threequarter, Albert Falwasser, who three years ago went to England to play for Roelulale Hornets, and last year accepted terms to become a player-coach for the Bordeaux Club in France, is reported to be playing grand football and making

The manager will lie chosen next month, and it ia expected that Mr. Aijderton, who was here in 1932, will make his second trip, which is in accordance with a custom that one manager from a previous tour should be issociated with the new man chosen.
