WRESTLING TO-NIGHT.
WALKER'S BOUT WITH LA MA^O. Indications are that the crowd which will attend the wrestling contest between George Walker and Tony La Maro at the Town Hall to-night will .be divided into two distinct sections. One group will comprise his supporters, who are keen to see him prove that lie is still the best wrestler in the Dominion as in the past, while the other section will be his detractors. A man who has made a success is always open to criticism, and, especially in the sporting world, there are always <i large numberVlio want to see him beaten. Consequently, there was some delight when Walker was beaten on points by Duala last Saturday, but Walker is not dismayed and is anxious to justify the faith of bis supporters that he is capable of defeating any of the overseas men at present in New Zealand, and so prove, as. in past years, that be can still come out on top. Walker s opponent to-night, Tony La Maro, will be making his first New Zealand appearance, but lie has a reputation for fast and spectacular wrestling, which should make linn a difficult opponent for Walker to beat. La Maro is keen to defeat Walker and so establish himself in his first match, and will spare no effort to bring the bout to a successful end as soon as possible. His endeavours to oust Walker and Walker s efforts to live up to his past form should provide a thrilling bout, which should bring fans flocking to the Town Hall.
