LURLINE ARRIVES.

AMONG THE PASSENGERS. N.Z. DENTIST'S WORLD TOUR. The Oceanic liner Lurline, which is temporarily replacing the Mariposa 011 the America-New Zealand-Aust.nl u 11111, arrived at Auckland at seven this morning from Sydney after an uneventful trip. She carried 200 passengers for this port and 134 through. An additional 43 passengers joined the ship at Auckland before she left this .afternoon for San Francisco, via Pacific Island ports. To have visited 27 different countries or colonies in tho 17 months they have been away from New Zealand is the record of Dr. and Mrs. Frank G. Scott, of Palmerston North, who were among the passengers who landed this morning. Travelling by way of the Pacific Islands, America and England they toured Europe from end to end and got as far east as Russia, Esthonia and Latvia. Returning by the Mediterranean they visited Palestine. Arabia, Ceylon and Australia. While in the United States of America Dr. Scott took a post-graduate course in dentistry at the Harvard University and qualified D.M.D.

Sir Robert Anderson, of Invercargill, managing director for Auustralasia of the Nestie-Anr;lo-Swiss Milk Company and a director of the Reserve Bank, returned from a brief business visit to Australia. Mr. L. V. Bryant, a son of Mr. ,T. T. Bryant, of Matansri. who left New Zealand last March to join the 1035 Everest Reconnaissance Expedition, returned by the ship. Mr Beaumont Smith, managing director of the .T. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, arrived on a business visit to New Zealand. Tie is aceomnanied by Mrs. Smith. Tliev are staying at the G-<vnd Hotel. Mr. Claude W. Heather, general manager of Russell Somers. Limited, Auckland, returned to Auckland after a fortnight's business visit to Australia. Mr. George If. Abel, managing director of Abel's. Limited, margarine manufacturers. Auckland, returned from a five weeks' holidrrv vi« ; t to Sydney. He was accompanied bv Mrs. Abel and his son, Mr. Stuart Abel.
