WATCHING MEMEL.

BRITAIN'S ATTITUDE. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, November 14. Developments in the political situation in Memel, where the Governor nominated one of five Lithuanian members in the recently elected Diet, in which German Memel members hold 24 seats, to form a new directory, are being closely watched by the British Government as one of the signatories of the Memel Statute. This statute provides that the directory should enjoy the confidence of tho Diet. The result of the efforts of M. Borchestus to form a Government which will secure the support of a majority in the Diet is awaited with interest.
