COURT RESERVES DECISION". A reserved decision was given in the Arbitration Court yesterday in a claim for compensation brought by a quartz miner, Frederick Peacock (Mr. P. J. O'Kegan, of Wellington), against tlie Martha Gold .Mining Company (Walhi), Limited. Plaintiff claimed that lie had injured his right foot while working in the mine. He reported the accident, but attached no importance to it. On August 3 he bcame totally disabled as the result of it, and remained so for 17 days. Hβ claimed compensation of £0 17/, with medical expenses, £1. Mr. Richmond, for the company, admitted the accident had taken place, but said plaintiff had not given notice of the injury, as required, or reported to the dressing station. The parties agreed that the disability arose through the abrasion becoming septic.
