DAMAGES AWARDED.
PASSENGER'S INJURIES. VERDICT GIVEN FOR £758. After deliberating for just under four Lours a jury in the Supreme. Court yesterday returned „a. verdict, iji.. favour of a passenger who wae injured in a collision between a motor van ■ and a motor lorry, for £758. The action occupied two daye before Mr. Justice Callan. The plaintiff was Sydney Francis Boyd, farmer, of Buckland (Mr. Coates), and the defendants Percy H. Lapwood, carrier, Eddie Lapwood, motor driver, and Sydney ' Lapwood, motor driver, all of Tuakau (Mr. Holmdeu). The accident happened on the TuakauPort Waikato Road -on November 18 of last year, when a van in which plaintiff was a passenger collided with one of two lorries which had been drawn up tide by side just round a bend in the road and which were in charge of two of the defendants. As a result of the collision the plaintiff had suffered permanent injury to his left wrist. The jury's verdict was; for £58 13/ special damages and £700 general damages, judgment being entered accordingly with costs as per scale, disbursements, and witnesses' expenses to be fixed by the rcgistrar..For the second day's hearing £15 15/ was allowed.
