WRESTLING.
TO-MORROW NIGHT'S MATCH. American films have made widely known the character of the "tough guy," but ono typo the movie director has not featured is a gentle one. Tony La Maro, who is to battle with George Walker at the Town Hall to-morrow evening, is very much concerned, according to report, that he should not be considered a man-eater, but in direct contradiction to this is the further report that ho only adopts a gentle attitude to encourage his opponent to make matters lively. Then he comes into his own and endeavours to make his opponent regret his temerity. La Maro will certainly have to live up to his reputation as a fast, spectacular and vigorous wrestler if lie is to defeat Walker, who is determined to keep his successes against all classes of importations. Last Saturday Aucklanders saw him defeated on points after a gruelling match by one of the best wrestlers who has visited these shores, but Walker is confident that he can reverse that decision in a second meeting. Meanwhile, he is keen to show that as in the past, while he may lose an occasional decision, he cannot be beaten twice in succession. Walker has many friends in Auckland and many critics who would like to see him dethroned, and lie is more than anxious to prove that the confidence that has been placed in him is justified, and so confound his detractors. La Harp's speed and skill promise to give Walker a severe test in a bout which should prove popular with Auckland wrestling fans.
