£100,000 BEQUEST.
CHARITY AND EDUCATION. THREE CENTRES TO BENEFIT. (By Telegraph.—Own -Correspondent.) NAPIER, this day. Napier charities may benefit to the extent of £.30,000 from the estate of the late Mr. T. R. Moore, who died at Palmerston North some months ago. Mr. Moore, who was for many years a settler in the Waimarama district, on the coast east of Hastings, provided for a trust fund from which charitable and educational bodies in Napier, Christchurch and Palmerston North should benefit. It is learned that the sum of about £100,000 will be available for approximately equal division among the three communities. The fund will be administered by the T. G. McCarthy Trust, which is com trolled by a special committee, of which the Governor-General, Lord Gahvay, is a member, administered through the Public Trust office. It is also possM)le under thfv terms of Mr. Moore's will that a collection of Maori curios which he had made and the allocation of which had been left to the discretion of the trustees may become available for the new Hawke's Bay Art Gallery and Museum, the first wing of which is now nearing completion on the seaside site in Napier.
