CASE ADJOURNED.

COMPENSATION CLAIM.

INJURED LORRY DRIVER. OPERATION DESIRABLE. A decision to adjourn the ease until the next session was reached by the Arbitration Court this morning, in a claim for compensation by Stanley Bates, a lorry driver, against Wilson's Timber Mills, Ltd., of Auckland. Mr. P. J. O'Eegan appeared for plaintiff and Mr. Hore for the defendant company. Difference of opinion existed as to whether an operation was desirable. This morning, however, both counsel agreed that the weight of evidence favoured an operation, which is to take place in the interim. The plaintiff suffered a broken left shoulder as a result of an accident when driving a motor truck on May 5, 1934. He was employed by the defendant company. jfr. S. A. Bull and Dr. W. C. McCaw thought the plaintiff had a serious permanent disability of the left shoulder joint. Dr. McCaw was against an operation. Mr. Hore called Dr. K. S. Macky, who thought that an operation was indicated, as that would ultimately permit of n wide scope of employment. Dr. K. MacCormick and Dr. G. W. Gower, of Hamilton, also favoured an operation. His Honor said the plaintiff need be in no anxiety about compensation, to which he was'entitled for any permanent incapacity he might suffer.
