29 Flying Boats for Empire
Services.
24-PASSENGER MACHINES. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 11. Details of the flying boats, of which 29 have been ordered by Imperial Airways, Limited, for the Empire routes, show that tho payload will be between threo and a half and five tons, according to the non-stop distance required. Tho total loaded weight will be 17i tons. The machines will accommodate 24 daytime or 10 sleeping passengers, and there will be two stewards. The comfort provided will surpass anything yet attempted in aircraft.
