£5000 FIRE LOSS.
TIMBER FACTORY BLAZE.
UP-TO-DATE PLANT DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.—Press AseodatJon.)" INVERC&KGILL, Monday. One of the test equipped and most up-t6-datei box timber factories in Southland,-situated a quarter of a mile from Tuatapere, was destroyed by fire early this evening. The plant belonged to Hamilton and Company, and "was recently taken over by Mr. J. H. Williams. About 10,000 feet of timber stacked in the mill was destroyed, together with. 15,000 feet in racks outside. The cause of the fire is unknown, tut it appeared to start in the vicinity of the boiler. The damage is estimated at £5000.
