An enoyable bridge evening was given by the Cheltenham ladies' committee for the Independent National Government candidate for Waiteniata, Mr. Alexander Harris, in the Devonport Navy League Hall last evening. Mr. Harris gave a short address during the evening. In the absence of the chairman of the committee, Mrs. J. R.\ Lundon, the chairman for the Waitemata • electorate, Mrs. 11. McLean, received the guests. The committee comprised: Mesdames A. W. Jouguin (honorary secretary), M. L. 'Weir, F. Langley, B. L. Martin, A. H. Oswin, W. Waters and F. Weight.
