IMPERIAL EX-SERVICEMEN.
NOVELTY EVENING HELD. In connection with, the Armistice Day celebrations, the British Legion (Imperials) held a novelty evening on Saturday in the rooms of the National Council o£ Women, in the form of a "sing, play or pay" social. There was a good attendance and almost all did their bit for the. enjoyment of the whole. A few defaulters, however, paid the penalty amidst a barrage of quips and jests from the remainder of the audience. Much unexpected talent was revealed through the impromptu items. Special mention should be made of Mr. Jack Reid in his combination solos for harmonica and guitar, and his lightning sketches, while the dramatic item by "Skipper" Maltby was also well received. On Sunday the legion co-operated ivitn the Mons men and others in the annual church parade at St. Matthew's, when a good muster answered the roll. Yesterday a detachment attended the Domain ceremony, a wreath being placed on the .Gcmotaph. hy Captain Sellai, E-E.A, J
