CENTRAL ORGANISATION.
N.Z. BUILDING SOCIETIES. » A proposal which was made at the recent conference of building societies in Wellington that a central organisation of building societies should be formed is now receiving consideration, but so far no definite steps towards the formation of such an organisation have been taken. The suggestion was that such a central organisation shoulr" secure capital by the issue of bonds and make advances to building societies for the erection of dwellings, and should also collaborate with the Government in any housing scheme that might be undertaken.
