RACING SEASON STARTS.

ALL CLUBS IN ACTIVE PREPARATION.

MANY BOATS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

(By SPEEDWELL.)

With seventeen yacht clubs and five model clubs in active operation, the yachting season of 1935-36 shows promise of being a bumper one. In addition to a big programme of racing and cruising events for each club, the interprovincial contests for the Sanders and Cornwell Cups are to be sailed on the Waitemata at the end of January. This will be the first time for several years where all of the Southern provinces will be represented in Auckland. The record number of new keel yachts and many smaller boats under construction adds to the interest taken in the sport for the coming season.
