On his twelfth annual visit to New Zealand for the big game fishing, Mr. C. Alma Baker, C.8.E., arrived by the Wanganclla from Sydney yesterday. On his way from London Mr. Baker paid a brief visit to the Malay States, where he has interests in tin and rubber. After visiting his sheep station, Limestone Downs, Port Waikato, Mr. Baker intends to go to the Bay of Islands about the end of January or early in February to try his luck with the swordtish and mako sharks.
After his last visit to the Dominion Mr. Baker published accounts of the big game fishing in the "Sporting and Dramatic" and in "The Field," which attracted a great deal of attention amongst British sportsmen.
