SCHOOL LIBRARIES.
The Department of Education advised the Auckland Education Board yesterday that for the year ending March, 1936, the sum of £378 would be available for expenditure on school and class libraries in schools under control of the board. The secretary, Mr. D. W. Dunlop, reported thjat previously the allowance had been 3d a child, but this had been suspended. ■ The proposed allowance would amount to about half the previous allowance.
