SYDNEY AND GEELONG. SYDNEY, November 6. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 12,528 bales were offered and 12,030 were sold. Also 350 bales were sold privately. There was spirited competition from all sections and the market ruled at the best point of the week, with particularly keen 1 demand for superfine wools snowing | length. The season's record price wan | raised to 24% d for five bales from Yass and five bales from Barraba. A message from Melbourne states that new wool records were made at the Geelong sales to-day, when the cream of Victoria's Merino clips realised up to 27% d. Other buyers operating on behalf of English and American spinners paid 26Vjd, 26% d and 27d. • SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, November 5. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 11,441 bales were offered and 10,995 were sold. Also, 414 bales were sold privately. All the best features of the previous day's sale were reproduced, with particularly strong inquiry for good spinning descriptions, which were inclined to rule in sellers' favour. Yorkshire, Japan and the Continent operated freely. Greasy Merino sold to 23 , /4 d— a fre6n record tor the season. PRICE OF SILVER. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, November 5. Silver is quoted at 29% d per ounce for spot delivery, and 29% d for forward. I

WHEAT CARGOES, ETC. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, November 6. Wheat cargoes are dull. Canadians are obtainable at 3d less, and Australian and La Platas at 3d to 6d decline, but buyers continue a hand-to-mouth policy. There is little business in parcels, which are mostly 4!£d to 6d easier. Manitoba and other descriptions are obtainable at about late rates to 3d decline. Futures—London: February, 25/ per quarter; April, 24/10%. Liverpool: December, G/\% per cental; March, 5/0%; May 5/8%. CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES. (Received 12.30 p.m.) CHICAGO, November 6. Wheat for delivery in December is quoted at Chicago at 97% cents per bushel. For May delivery the rate is 97% cents, and for July 89% cents. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Co. have received the following cable from their London principals, Messrs. Trengrouse and Nathan, Tooley Street, dated November 6:—Butter: Finest. 99/ per cwt; first, I 97/.
