At i p.m. they left by car on the'r honeymoon, the wife driving.' At 10 p.m. they were involved in an accident which caused her death. "My wife drove all the way," Mr. Brinnicombe stated. "She was a good, experienced driver and had driven that particular car often. All went well until about 10 p.m., when we reached the junction of the Newark-Caunton-Hocker-ton roads." * • His wife asked if she should drive straight on. He bent forward to read a signpost and then the car struck the grass triangle. The door flew open and he was thrown out. "When I was able to do so," he continued, "I went round ar.d shouted, ' Margaret.' . . . Then I saw her feet sticking out from the underneath the car. Her head was near the back wheel and she was lying diagonally. . . I begged her to speak to me. ..." The jury returned a verdict of accidental death and the coroner expressed his sympathy with the husband.
