LIBRARY BULLETIN.
The New Zealand Library Association, heartened by the recent visits of various representatives of the Carnegie Corporation of New York, and borne onward by the wave of enthusiasm which began at "the recent conference in Timaru, is embarked upon a period of renewed activity. Its first instructional bulletin, which consists of 17 cyolostyled pages, should be of much value to the librarians of sniail libraries throughout the country who have for a long time continued without much guidance. In the bulletin Mr. E. 13. Ellerm covers the planning of small library buildings (two plans being shown), the questions of book selection, records within the library, classification (the main outline of the Dewey decimal system is included), cataloguing on the dictionary card system, issue methods, work with children, reference work (including a selected list of reference publications regarded as indispensable), book repair and a bibliography of the literature of the subject. Library associations in other parts of the world publish on a fairly extensive scale pro- i Sessional literature which is of use to their members. !
