The Rev. E. W. Hancock has been inducted vicar of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Te Kuiti.

Officer, of the Indian Army, arrived in Auckland by the Rangitiki this morning. Dr. J. H. Graham Robertson, of Wellington, was a passenger for Auckland by the Rangitiki this morning. Mr. O. G. Trinder, of Trinder, Anderson and Company, London shipowners, arrived in Auckland by the Rangitiki this morning. Colonel the Hon. G. J. Smith, M.L.C., C.8.E., V.D, of Christchurch, returned from London by the Raugitiki this morning Mr. J. Campbell, manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Sydney, arrived in Auckland with Mrs. Campbell by the Rangitiki this morning. Mr. H. R. Gough, a director of the British-American Tobacco Co., arrived by the Rangitiki this morning from London. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. C. V. Houghton, who recently retired from the managership of the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived in Auckland by the Rangitiki this

morning. Paymaster-Lieutenartt-Commander C. H. Law arrived from London by the Rangitiki this morning to join H.M.S. Philomel. He was accompanied by Mrs. Law and Miss E. A. Law. Sir Donald McGavin, C.M.G., D.5.0., and Lady McGavin, who returned from a trip to England by the Rangitiki this morning, are leaving for the South by the Limited to-night.

Wing Commander T. M. Wilkes, Director of Air Services, visited Auckland yesterday to attend the funeral of his grandmother, the late Mrs. H. M. Wilkes. He will leave for the South again this evening after carrying out an inspection of the Hobsonville air base.
