A LITTLE MORE BUSINESS. VALUES MAINTAINED. FARMERS' TRADING FIRM. Business oil the Auckland Stock Exchange, though still very quiet, showed some improvement over yesterday's dull record.' A fair list of sales was put through at the morning call, mostly on the basis of recent values. In the banking section Commercials were firm between 16/7 and 16/9, and New Zealands were unchanged, from £2 10/3 to £2 10/6. Reserves' were offered 1/ lower, at £6 8/, withqut attracting any offer from buyers. There was a good demand for insurances at the lower levels lately established. After South British had had further business at £4 8/6 there were buyers for those shares at £4 8/3, for A.P.A.'s at £1, New Zealands at £3 2/6 and Standards at £3 4/. Coal shares also had a good market, with buyers for eight separate issues. Farmers' Trading shares were active, with sales ;it 7/2 and 7/3, after which buyers moved up to 7/4 without securing supplies. Stronger At Noon. A further rise of 3d was made in Farmers' Trading at the noon call, and buyers stayed in at 7/5 with seller? Id higher. The general tone of the market was stronger, though the turnover was light. Buyers of Reserve Banks came in after a long silence at £6 6/, this being 2/ below holders. More interest was shown in mining scrip, and buyers' limits were advanced for half "a dozen issues.
