ROXY AND TIVOLI. Enacting a flippant, bantering role, of the type which won him stardom, James Dunn heads a splendid comedy cast in "Welcome Home," which will be released to-morrow at the Roxy and Tivoli Theatres. It is a laughable story of four lovable scoundrels —Dunn, Raymond Walburn, William. Frawley and Charles Sellon. The home of "Welcome Home" is Elmdale, a representative little town whose citizens are holding a high school reunion in the hope of luring back an old millionaire who may provide the money for a much-necded new factory. James Dunn is among the boys who come home. A "con" man in real life, he poses as an "investment specialist" and wins the confidence of his former townsmen. Then his old associates join him and the fun begins in earnest. Dunn wants to help the townsfolk with their financial problems, but his.friends, sensing a good market for their fake wares, settle down to work. They fall in and out of trouble until the film ends on a surprising and hilarious climax. In the supporting film, "Hard Rock Harrigan," George O'Brien is said to-give one of the finest performances of his career. This film, full of dramatic sus'pense and fast-moving action, tells of a feud between a husky liard-rock driller (O'Brien), and his tunnel boss (Fred Kohler), who ate engaged in drilling a tunnel through a mountain-side to complete a gigantic aqueduct project. FAREWELL BENEFIT CONCERT. A benefit concert is to be tendered in the Town Hall to-morrow evening to Mr. Forbes Eadie ("Lee Fore Brace"), prior to his departure for England, to broadcast for the 8.8.C. The concert is organised by the Ship Lovers' Society, assisted by the Friendly Road radio organisation. Leading local artists will be heard, and pupils of the Mount Albert Grammar School will sing sea chanteys.
