ROSKILL SEAT.
GOVERNMENT CANDIDATE. MR. T. J. FLEMING'S SELECTION. Mr. T. J. »Fleming has been selected as the National Government candidate fbr the Koskill seat, the decision being made at a meeting of delegates last eveqing over which Mr. J. M. Melville presided. The provincial organiser, ■. M. B. G. Edwards, said that according to the constitution of the National Political Federation the only nomination before the meeting was that of Mr. Fleming.
Mr. Potter gave his reasons for not having put in his nomination. Mr. Potter then withdrew, and Mr. Fleming addressed the meeting. A resolution was passed by a large majority (selecting him as the candidate.
A further resolution .was carried to the effect that Mr. Edwards had carried out the selection ballot with strict impartiality, and in full accord with the constitution.
Mr. J. Robertson, a member of the •Mount Rosldll Road Board, whose name had been mentioned in connection with the choice of a candidate, announced that owing to business reasons he would not be a candidate.
