CRIPPLED CHILDREN'S FUND.
An urgent appeal has been made for contributions to the crippled children's fund. An opportunity to assist the appeal will present itself when Betty Spiro appears in a dance and song recital to bo etaged at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday, November 2. Although only 12 yeans ot age, this younß artist hae already won championships and over 120 first prizes in competitions in all parts of the North Island. Supporting her will be the Roland Family Sextet, which recently returned from Vienna after five years of etudy. The Y.M.C.A. Gymnasium will present novelty acrobatic numbers, while the Mount Albert Grammar School special choir will render part songs. Mise Una Mateer, of Matamata, a successful piano soloist, will add interest to the musical side and Miss Patricia Lind will be seen in character dances. The recital is supported by the combined Ponsonby schools.
