PHILISTINES' CLUB.
LAST REVEL OF SEASON. The Philistines' Club held the last revel of the season on Saturday evening in the Amateur Operatic Society's hall. The guests were received by the chairman for the evening, Mr. J. W. G. Saunders, and Mrs. Saunders, who wore black georgette. The programme of entertainment was well up to the usual standard. It comprised a sketch by Miss Edna Craig and Mr. Norton Hammond, entitled "The Brass Doorknob," songs by Miss Sara Stacpoole and Mr. E. Snell, a sketch by the Misses Freda and Joyce Crosher, 'cello solos by Dr. Trevor de Clive Lowe, humorous items by Mr. A. McElwain and humorous songs by Mr. Peter Porter. The final item was a sketch entitled "Who's. Who in the Philistine Club." Those taking part were Misses Freda Crosher and Audrey Allan and Messrs. Zante Wood, J. W. G. Saunders, H. R. Brindley and Harold Sayers.
