BUTTER NOW AT 122/. Mr. L. McCartney lias to-day received the following cable report from Messrs. Henry A. Lane and Company, Limited, London: —Butter: 122/, market firm. Cheese: White 01/, coloured 02/; firm. Sir. 11. S. Withers has received advice from his principal, Mr. A. C. Rowson, as follow: —New Zealand butter 122/ per cwt, cheese 01/.
TALLOW, HEMP, EGGS.
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated October 5, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — . Tallow. —Auctions will be held on October 9. Market firm and prices continue to advance. Hemp.—Manila: Market firmer, good business has been done. K grade for October-December shipments sold at £27 15/. Sisal: Market active, prices have advanced. • September-November shipments sold at £27. January-March shipments quoted buyers £27 5/. New Zealand: More interest shown, but offers above buyers' ideas. Small business- has been done 011 basis of fair £20.
