ONEHUNGA CIRCUIT.
METHODISTS AT MEETING
INVITATION TO MINISTER,
At the quarterly meeting of the Oneliunga circuit of the Methodist Church held last night a unanimous invitation which was extended to the Rev. E. S. Hark lies s to continue his ministry in the circuit for a fifth year was accepted by him. The circuit stewards, Messrs. C. E. Goode and 'Wesley Norris, paid tributes to tho excellent work of Mr. and Mrs. Ilarkncss and their daughters in all parts of the circuit.
Messrs. J. Laking and R. Howell were appointed circuit representatives to the Auckland District Synod to be held at Pitt Street Methodist Church on November 20.
Mrs. E. S. Harkness and Mr. F. A, Skinner were elected substitute representatives.
Messrs. F. C. Pace and W. E. Archer were thanked for their services as auditors and reappointed.
Mr. A. J. Pople, superintendent of the Oneliunga Sunday School, reported that of the total of 25 scholars who sat at the recent Scripture examinations from Oneliunga ten won prizes, the same number obtained first-class certificates and three were awarded second-class certificates.
Reports from the other Sunday schools were very pleasing.
The celebration services in connection with the Sunday anniversary were fixed to take place at Walmsley Road next Sunday, at Penrose, on November 3, and Oneliunga the week after.
Mr. Harrkness reported that £60 had been raised for renovating the church and Sunday school buildings at Oneliunga. This will carry a subsidy from the Board. He also reported that the debt 011 the Walmsley Road Church had been liquidated. During the summer months the services at Wcstney Road Methodist Cliuich aie to be held morning and evening alternately, commencing 011 November 3.
