BRIGHTER OUTLOOK.
Demand for Mutton and Lamb Rising. BRITAIN'S CHANGED TASTE. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. The Imperial Kconomtc Committee's world survey of mutton and lamb considers that the meat prospects should be comparatively stable. The demand for mutton and lamb in Britain has risen considerably, partly offsetting the decline in the consumption of beef and veal.
The frozen mutton and lamb requirements are likely to continue relatively high. Britain is virtually the world's sole market for surplus supplies, threequarters of which eame from Australia and New Zealand last year.
Lamb is tending to replace mutton owing to changed tastes in Britain.
