MADGE ELLIOTT IN "ROBERTA."
Playing ngain last night to largo audiences at His Majesty's Theatre, tne J. C. Williamson, Ltd., musical comedy company's sparkling show "Roberta, with Madge Elliott and Cyril Ritchard, is classed among the most successful productions ever staged in Auckland by the company. So popular has it been taat the management has decided to extend its season, and the last three performances will be given to-night and to-morrow afternoon and evening. On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday nights and on Saturday afternoon the company will appear in another enchanting and tuneful comedy, ' Higu Jinks." Sparkling music, clever dancing and effective settings combine with bubbling humour to make this a scintillating presentation. Madge Elliott as Sylvia Dale is a charming figure. Playgoers will have fond memories of the initial P r< )j duction in New Zealand of ' High •TiniUi and will never forget its catchy melodies, the work of such well-known composers as Jerome Kern, Rudolph Friml and Paul Kubens. Cyril Ritchavd, besides playing the part of Dick Wayne, produced the Svdney revival of the play. "High will bo followed next Tuesday by Our Miss Gibbs."
