HOW THEY SANG!
JOYOUS METHODISTS.
GRATITUDE FOR GIFTS.
MANGERE CHURCH FINANCE.
The Scriptural injunction "Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand docth," has received a practical illustration in the Onehunga Methodist circuit. After quarterly meeting last night the Rev. E. S. Harkness reported that at a meeting of the trustees of the Walmsley Road Church, Mangere, tho treasurer, Mr. W. E. B. Bridge, reported that the final repayment of the church debt had been made to the building and loan fund. This took the members by surprise, as they were under tho impression that they still owed a considerable amount of the loan of £150.
When asked to explain, Mr. Bridge replied that now and again he had received a substantial donation towards tho repayment of the loan, sometimes amounts to as much as £40. He did not name the generous giver, as that was a secret.
The Doxology was sung with even more than tho customary Methodist enthusiasm. '
