ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
A gratifying increase i in the street collection on behalf of the St. John Ambulance Association in Otahuhu is reported this year. The collection was organised by the Mayoress, Mrs. C. R. Petrie, and a large band of lady workers. The entire district, including the industrial works in the vicinity of Otahuhu, was covered in a plan of groups and j from an early hour the ladies, assisted iby a number of men, worked indefatigably. Under an excellent relieving I system 110 part of the town was left uncovered throughout the day and the j total proceeds amounted to * over £48. This figure exceeds last year's amount i by about £0.
