GIRL ATHLETES.

■ Final arrangements for the annual sports ' of the Auckland Girls’ Athletic Association, to be held in I’arlaw Park on October 19, were discussed at an executive meeting last evening. It was reported that an increase in the number of teams competing this year was shown, and great keenness was being displayed in the drill, marching ami games at the weekly practices. I X full-dress reuearsal will be held on Saturdav, October 12. when teams will appear in their various costumes and lie judged for the- drill and marching. Some of the heats and single events will also be run off. The .judging of the events was m the hands of Miss M. Leys and her helpers, 1 the referees being supplied by Miss Hutton.
