ON 'CHANGE.
BUSINESS IS FAIR,
GOVERNMENT STOCKS EASIER
Chief feature at this morning's call wai hn casing-in Government stocks. There was an all-round decrease in buyers' oilers but as sellers • failed to respond witl: counter-reduction, it is not possible tc indicate to what • extent the market lias slipped. 'Ihe only sale recorded in this class was of '4(5-"4o's, which was at the unchanged rate of £109 10/. Subsequent buyers stopped at £108. The banking section was quiet and insurances dull. There "was, however, a fair general inquiry, and a good list of sales was put through. In the mining section Marthas were in demand at with no sellers, and \Y ailii Investments and Exploration were asked for at 10/. The Noon Call. The position in regard to the apparent basing in Government stocks was not altered at the noon 'call. ;is no fresh quotations were put in' on either side for any issue. Generally speaking, the call was rather quiet. Broken Hills slipped another sixpence with a sale at £2 13/6, and more available a't that price, but buyers had dropped. In the mining section buyers raised their offers for Marthas to 17/6 and for Waihi Investments to 12/ ■ without bringing any response from holders in either case. Farmers' Fertiliser firmed up still further with business at 10/(5. Woolworths (Sydney) showed a sharp drop with a sale at .£5 5/6, after which buyers dropped, leaving sellers unsupported at £5 10/.
