SPRING RACING.
GERALDINE MEETING. THE OPENING DAY. PROGRAMME FOR TO-MORROW. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Gcraldine Racing Club will open their spring meeting to-morrow, and coucludo it on Saturday. Gooil fields have been attracted for the first day, and the form shown at Ashburton should be a guide, but there are sufficient fresh horses to make the selection of winners difficult, \vhile the position is further complicated through several horses being in two races. The betting will be on the single pool system. The following horses may be fancied:— First Hurdles,—Fleeting Glance, Trishna. Ohapi Hack Handicap. — Violenta, Disguise. Geraldine Cup.—Wino, Silver Sight, Epris.
Geraldine Trot.—Casanova, Slipalong. Squatters' Handicap.—Kinnoull, Penelope.
