A COLLECI OR'S TREASURES.—At the Loan Exhibition of Antiques, to be opened on Friday, major items of interest will be Captain G. Humphreys-Davies' collection of early Chinese ceramics. Captain Davie s has travelled into many out-of-the-way places of the world seeding these unique pieces. Above are shown two beautiful gold-lacquer Japanese doWer chests. On the top are three items of interest—a Chinese rose dish found in Auckland, a valuable peach-bloom bottle found in a shop in Hongkong, and a sacrificial wine jar, which was his first valued possession. 1 his exhibition, which is being opened to-morrow by Lady Galway, has been arranged on behalf of the Plunfyet Society and the Girl Guide Association.
