WELLINGTON, Friday,

Being of the opinion that New Zealand should discard the old and discredited methods of negotiation in trade matters, the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce to-day adopted the report of the sub-committee which recommended that the Government be urged to terminate, after requisite notice, the clause conferring most favoured nation treatment with respect to every country from which New Zealand did not gain commensurate advantage in order that New Zealand could negotiate for new treaties giving it benefits equal to those which it gave.
