CRICKET.

MANUKATJ CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the club, which was held at the Y.M.C.A., on Wednesday, was largely attended, and was presided over by Mr. W. Turbott. He said that in the first year of the. club's existence, the senior championship had been won, while the senior B team finished third in its section. Trophies for most consistent fielding were won by T. Bunting and V. Bakallch. To celebrato the club's success a smoke concert was held and proved a groat success. , The annual report and bnlanco-shcet were read and adopted, and the balance-slie£\t disclosed a small credit. Several new members were elected, and it was decided to form a junior grade team, provided sufficient plavers were offering. Mr. \V. Stoupe was appointed organiser of the team.

Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the iate Mr. J. Armstrong, a member of the A.11.8.C.C. and Manukau Club.

6/iicers elected :—Patron, Mr. J. S. Hannigan ; vice-patron, Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P.; president, Mr. \V. H. Turner: vice-presi-dents, same as last year, with power to add ; club captain, Mr. .T. Mann (reelected) ; management committee, Messrs. Candy, Dunning, Martin, Turner, Stoupe, Stone; delegate to A.C. and S.C.A., Mr. \V. Turbott (re-elected) ; selection committee. Messrs. Maun, Turner, Candy; lion, secretary, Mr. S. Learning. It was decided to renew affiliation with the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association.

Protests were made re the state of practice wickets, and it was decided to ask the association to take the matter up with tlio controlling authorities, as on some occasions pitches were not safe.
